CLT Alliance investors, former interim CEO honored among Most Admired CEOs

The former interim CEO of the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance is among the leaders recognized in the Charlotte Business Journal’s Most Admired CEO Awards, which include 11 CLT Alliance investor companies.

The program recognizes local leaders who demonstrate strong vision for their organizations and a deep commitment to their communities.

Andrea Smith, chair of the Bank of America Alumni Network and former interim CEO of the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance, received a Lifetime Achievement Award. She is widely regarded in the Charlotte community as a top business executive, community leader, and philanthropist. Smith held a number of senior leadership roles at Bank of America during her 34-year career.

In addition to Smith’s recognition, 11 CLT Alliance investors were named among this year’s Most Admired CEOs:

  • Jose Armario, Bojangles
  • Andrew Ashur, Lucid Bots
  • Shelly Cayette-Weston, Charlotte Hornets
  • Angela Charles, Charlotte Water
  • Bruce Clark, The Center for Digital Equity at Queens University of Charlotte
  • Kristi Coleman, Tepper Sports & Entertainment
  • Barbi Jones, Cabarrus Chamber of Commerce
  • Sharai Lavoie, Lavoie CPA
  • Hans Stig Moller, Odyssey Logistics
  • Eric Reichard, Rodgers Builders, Inc.
  • Michael Rhodes, Ally Financial Inc.

Dion Flannery of PSA Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines, was also an award recipient.

The recognition comes just after the Charlotte Business Journal announced its 40 Under 40 class and the Charlotte Ledger announced its 40 Over 40 class, both of which included leaders from CLT Alliance investor companies. Together, these honorees reflect the strength of the Charlotte Region’s business community and its continued impact both locally and beyond.

The Charlotte Business Journal will celebrate the Most Admired CEOs at a June event. See the full list of winners here.
