The Duke’s Mayo Classic is celebrating the centennial Aggie-Eagle Classic. Here’s how you can help students have a one-of-a-kind experience

This Labor Day weekend, Charlotte is welcoming N.C. A&T and N.C. Central for the Duke’s Mayo Classic. It’s the 100th anniversary of the Aggie-Eagle Classic and the community needs your help to ensure more students have the chance to celebrate.

In recognizing this rivalry, HBCUs, and the incredible sport of college football, we’ve created a weekend of activities that range from a college and career fair to a step show to incredible performances by both schools’ marching bands. To help make this weekend even more electric we’re looking for partners in the Charlotte business community to help bring the most important thing to the game: the students.

With your support we can provide tickets to students from both universities and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools to participate in this unique sporting event.

As a community champion of the Duke’s Mayo Classic, you can help provide up to 3,000 Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools students the opportunity to have a one-of-a-kind game day experience attending one of North Carolina’s oldest rivalries in an NFL stadium.

As a presenting sponsor, you can help provide up to 2,000 NCCU and N.C. A&T students the opportunity to cheer on their team.

For more information about the sponsorship levels and how to support the students, contact Will Lawson at the Charlotte Sports Foundation.

Outside of the game there is a full weekend of activities for fans to partake in including a college and career fair, step show, a concert at the Spectrum Center, FanFest, and a history exhibit at the Brooklyn Collective.

“The Charlotte Sports Foundation is honored to host this incredible rivalry game in the Queen City,” Danny Morrison, executive director of CSF, said. “Our staff and the team at Duke’s Mayo appreciate the importance of this rivalry and know that its influence extends past the playing field. With this in mind, we hope to create a weekend that not only is a celebration of these two schools but leaves a lasting impact on all who attend the Duke’s Mayo Classic.”

The athletic directors from both schools sat down for a special episode of CLT Alliance Talks to talk more about the rivalry and what they’re most looking forward to outside of the game. Click here to listen.
