Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers annual conference connects businesses with top talent

The Society for Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) is the nation’s largest association dedicated to fostering Hispanic leaders in the STEM Field. The SHPE annual conference, the largest gathering of Hispanics in STEM, is underway at the Charlotte Convention Center through Nov. 6.

With more than 10,000 attendees expected, the conference will provide access to more than 200 sponsors and exhibitors, multiple networking events, skill-building workshops, and onsite interviews with organizations seeking talent in STEM fields.

Many Charlotte Regional Business Alliance investors are participating in the conference this year, including American Airlines. American has a long-standing relationship with SHPE and years of success attracting diverse candidates affiliated with SHPE to positions at the airline. American is proud to support the SHPE conference once again, especially given its proximity to CLT Airport, American’s second largest hub with 650 daily flights supported by 13,000 local team members.

Through its booth in the exhibit hall and other scheduled networking events, American’s talent representatives will connect with conference attendees to promote career opportunities within the airline’s divisions of Tech Ops, Information Technology, and Operations Research.

American will also be seeking top candidates for admittance to the American Airlines Cooperative Education Program, a six- to seven-month experience designed to immerse current college students in an accelerated and challenging environment focused on technical functions including engineering, aviation management, and technology.  For more information on the co-op program, visit this link
