Nominations open for Coolest Things Made in NC contest

North Carolina has much to be proud of, particularly when it comes to the products it manufactures. Now, you can help celebrate the creativity, innovation, and talent in the Charlotte Region and across the state by nominating your favorite product made in North Carolina.

The Coolest Things Made in NC contest has returned. Run by the NC Chamber, the online competition is accepting nominations through Aug. 14. Nominations are open to the public. Any item manufactured in North Carolina is eligible for the contest. Company headquarters do not have to be located in North Carolina.

To create a more level playing field between large and small manufacturers, there is now a small business category for manufacturers with fewer than 100 employees.

In 2022, Caterpillar Cat® 299D3 XE Compact Track Loader was named Coolest Thing Made in NC in the medium-to-large business category. The beachBub® All-In-One Umbrella System won in the small business category. Caterpillar’s product is manufactured in Sanford, while beachBub’s is manufactured in Greensboro.

Nominated products will advance through multiple rounds of voting, with the products receiving the highest votes in each round moving to subsequent rounds.
