Chick-fil-A Supply buys key building in Kannapolis for new distribution center

Chick-fil-A, Inc., through its subsidiary Chick-fil-A Supply, recently purchased Building 1 of Lakeshore Corporate Park, situated at the former site of the Kannapolis Intimidators stadium.

The new center aims to streamline warehousing restaurant supplies and enhance operational support and customer service. With this purchase, Chick-fil-A Supply is set to invest $58.3 million into the facility, which spans 126,380 square feet and is expected to be operational by late 2024. This investment is projected to create 112 jobs in the region.

The Lakeshore Corporate Park, covering approximately 55 acres near Interstate 85, is emerging as a significant industrial hub. With the addition of Chick-fil-A Supply, it now has two remaining industrial buildings available for lease, contributing to the park’s over 700,000 square feet of industrial space.

This development is part of a larger initiative that began last year when the city of Kannapolis chose Concord-based Fortius for the redevelopment of the former stadium site. Having available product is a key competitive advantage of Rowan County’s ability to attract new businesses. Along with developments at Overlook 85, Peeler Rd, and Long Ferry Road, these first-class buildings will ensure continued economic growth in Rowan County for many years to come.
