Attracting ‘top-tier talent’ | Armstrong Transport Group opens new headquarters in South End

Armstrong Transport Group, a leading non-asset-based logistics provider, announced the grand opening of its new Charlotte headquarters. Located on the fifth floor of the Vantage building, a five-acre mixed-use development in Charlotte’s vibrant South End, Armstrong’s new, state-of-the-art office space will help foster collaboration across Armstrong’s workforce, in addition to increasing opportunities to recruit local talent and give back to the local Charlotte community.

Armstrong is occupying the entire fifth floor of Vantage’s modern East Tower. Comprising more than 27,000 sq feet, this new space is more than double the size of Armstrong’s previous headquarters and has ample workspace for up to 225 employees. The Company currently employs more than 250 corporate employees, with 125 located in Charlotte and the remainder spread across offices in Chicago and Boise. Armstrong also provides back-office support to more than 150 freight agent offices and 600 logistics professionals nationwide. As one of the largest third-party logistics (“3PL”) companies in the U.S. with over $1 billion in revenue, Armstrong plans to hire more than 100 employees nationwide in 2023 to match its pace of growth.

Designed with employees in mind, Armstrong’s new offices will feature:

  • Naturally lit workspaces with phone rooms, a wellness lounge, a catering-equipped kitchen and game room featuring classic video games, pinball and tabletop shuffleboard.
  • Plenty of options to conduct meetings or huddles in open workspaces, an outdoor furnished patio and a training room.
  • Access to an on-site gym, free parking and coffee bar.

Recently named among the Top 25 Freight Brokerages in 2022 by Transport Topics and ranked 27th out of the Top 100 Domestic Management 3PLs by Armstrong & Associates, Armstrong is committed to fostering a positive and productive workplace environment for its employees. Armstrong’s new South End headquarters features spaces for both collaboration and recreation in order to promote a strong sense of community across its workforce and strengthen its recruiting pipeline. The Vantage building comprises more than 600,000 square feet of office and retail space spread across two 11-story buildings with 18 terraces overlooking Charlotte’s skyline. The building offers wellness programs, hospitality, and abundant food and beverage options, including a one-acre urban park with outdoor seating, eight dining options and a planned 200-room boutique hotel with a rooftop bar Centrally located for both convenience and entertainment, the Vantage building is a block away from the Carson Street light rail station in South End for commuters, and is within walking distance of Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC.
