Advanced manufacturing industry to explore new innovations at IME South

IME South, the leading Southeastern six-in-one advanced design and manufacturing expo, returns to the Charlotte Convention Center June 4-6. Giving attendees a comprehensive view of the product lifecycle—from prototype to production, IME South features the latest insights and solutions spanning medtech, packaging, automation, plastics, design, and processing.

With more than 3,000 attendees, 300 exhibitors and over 40 education sessions, IME South attracts professionals from across the industry in a range of functions, including engineers, executives, research and development, manufacturing, processing and buyers. Baxter Healthcare, Amazon, L’OREAL, Nestle, and SpaceX are among the top companies registered.

The IME South expo floor will feature the leading design and manufacturing technologies from some of the industry’s most influential companies, including Accumold, Delta ModTech, Vac-U-Max and Steri-tek, among others, in action. Along with product demos, networking events and free educational sessions led by experts on today’s most pressing topics, including 3D printing, medtech, packaging and smart manufacturing, IME South is the destination where engineers, designers and decision makers unite to solve problems and move manufacturing forward.

North Carolina is steadily becoming the leading advanced manufacturing and energy hub in the Southeast and was named the top state in America for business for the second year in a row in 2023. Recent investments from Siemens Energy and HEYCO-Werk USA Inc. affirm the region’s manufacturing prowess.

Advanced manufacturing remains one of the most important industries and economic drivers in the Charlotte Region. The region is home to more than 3,500 manufacturers employing more than 146,000 people with growth in sectors like automotive parts, plastics, advanced textiles, biomedical and energy manufacturing.  North and South Carolina are the top two states in the country for manufacturing competitiveness with the two lowest tax burdens in the Southeast.

“Ground-up investment in the region is what has made Charlotte the dynamic city that it is today. Our goal with IME South is to become a part of the local ecosystem and the place for the industry to explore new innovations and share key insights that move the industry forward,” explains Steve Everly, Event Director for Informa Markets Engineering.

IME South, alternating biennially with IME East, comprises six complementary expos to facilitate cross-category discovery: Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) South, Automation Technology Expo (ATX) South, SouthPack, Powder & Bulk Solids (PBS) South, Design & Manufacturing (D&M) South, and Plastec South. The show is the best place to discover new advanced manufacturing solutions and network with like-minded professionals, right in the middle of the booming city of Charlotte, North Carolina. The Southeast has seen significant growth in the injection molding and plastics markets and is the premier event for manufacturing networking as industrial capacity continues to soar in the region.
