704 Shop announces historic partnership with PGA

The PGA is partnering with Charlotte-based streetwear brand 704 Shop for a limited edition 2022 Presidents Cup Capsule Collection.

704 Shop is Charlotte’s original lifestyle brand, specializing in streetwear aesthetics brought to life via premium fabrics. The company will celebrate its 10-year anniversary next year. 704 Shop is positioning itself for global exposure with this historic PGA partnership.

“We’re extremely proud to have been chosen for this collaboration,” Christopher Moxley, co-owner of 704 Shop, said. “When you think about the Presidents Cup and how well received it is as a brand, to have been chosen for this collaboration is essentially that stamp of approval for us being best in class in our space.”

The Presidents Cup will be played in Charlotte at Quail Hollow Club Sept. 20 – 25. As one of the PGA’s most prestigious tournaments, the Presidents Cup dates back to 1994. Because of its unique style of play as a global team competition, the Presidents Cup inherently garners a worldwide audience.

Moxley said this represents an opportunity for 704 Shop to not only gain attention from fans all over the world, but also to demonstrate 704 Shop’s ability to execute at the highest level for corporate partners and clients in sports or other industries.

“Anybody who’s spent any time in Charlotte is familiar with the work 704 Shop has done in collaboration with other professional teams and industries,” Presidents Cup Executive Director Adam Sperling said. “We looked at what they could bring to the game of golf and this unique opportunity. This event’s only in a domestic market every four years, so we reached out to Scott and Chris (owners at 704 Shop), threw an idea at them, and just let them take it from there.”

The collection will feature four different designs across six products that give a nod to both the Presidents Cups international theme, as well as its historic venue. All products are co-branded and officially licensed.

Fans and patrons attending the Presidents Cup will have the best shot at purchasing the limited-edition items, as the bulk of the inventory has been allocated for the fan shop at Quail Hollow during the event. The fan shop will officially open to the public on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 9am-5pm. No event ticket will be required to visit the fan shop on Saturday.

Limited quantities of merchandise will also be available in 704 Shop’s flagship storefront in historic South End in Charlotte at 1616 Camden Road, Suite 140, on Friday, Sept. 16 at 11am.
