This year, the CLT Alliance Talent & Education Council is focusing on partnerships in higher education. Following that theme, last week’s council meeting featured a partnership between UNC Charlotte College of Computing and Informatics and Lowe’s. The collaboration between the two organizations will strengthen the university’s position as a leading technology hub as well as provide a strong talent pipeline for Lowe’s.
According to Lowe’s, the partnership has added immediate value to their operations. It has driven innovation and provided a talented and ready-to-work pipeline. Lowe’s is looking to solve problems of the future, not just the ones of today. They are looking for problem solvers and UNC Charlotte has provided a pipeline of students who are ready to innovate and become the next agents of change in business operations.
UNC Charlotte’s “College of Computing and Informatics is committed to being the recognized leader for competitive, innovative, and market-responsive computing and informations education. Through this commitment, the College develops focused, trend-setting research excellence with national and international recognition, and is recognized as the industry leader for partnership and collaborations.” Doctoral student Madlen Ivanova commented about the partnership during the council meeting saying that she is happy and excited to be a part of a program that is driving innovation in Charlotte and beyond.
