Spotlight On: Laura Foor, VP of external affairs for the CLT Alliance

Laura Foor

Laura Foor serves as vice president of external affairs for the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance. In this role, she leads strategies that advance the organization’s regional engagement goals, research initiatives, and workforce development efforts. She also directs and manages Charlotte Foreign Trade Zone No. 57.

A veteran of economic development in the Charlotte Region, Laura began her career with the Lincoln Economic Development Association before joining the Charlotte Regional Partnership. She remained with the CLT Alliance following the merger of the Partnership and the Charlotte Chamber. With more than 25 years of experience in regional economic development, Laura has played a significant role in shaping the growth and competitiveness of the Charlotte Region.

For Laura, working at the CLT Alliance is more than a career — it reflects her deep commitment to public service. “Economic development is such a rewarding career,” she says. “I get to contribute to making this region a better place to live, work, and play. There is no better way to spend the day than working to ensure our future generations have a thriving and prosperous place to call home.”

A two-time graduate of Western Carolina University, Laura earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and a Master of Public Affairs. She currently serves as a member of the WCU MPA Advisory Board.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and three Goldendoodles. She is a passionate supporter of the University of Tennessee Volunteers and enjoys traveling with her family, reading, scrapbooking, and staying informed on current events.
