Spotlight On: John Kelly, economic research associate for the CLT Alliance

John Kelly

John Kelly joined the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance as its newest economic research associate after earning his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He developed an interest in applying economic models while studying abroad at the London School of Economics after his sophomore year.

As an economic research associate for the CLT Alliance, John applies his experience in gathering and analyzing data to support economic development throughout the 14-county region.

“We’re thrilled to have John join our team,” said Laura Foor, the CLT Alliance vice president of external affairs. “His deep roots in Charlotte give him a special perspective on the opportunities in our region. We’re confident he’ll play a key role in advancing the CLT Alliance’s work to strengthen our 14-county economy.”

Having been born and raised in Charlotte, John has been familiar with the city and the surrounding region his entire life. John is excited to be working with a great team at the CLT Alliance and looks forward to contributing to the continued growth and prosperity of his hometown region in any way he can.

Outside of work, John loves spending time with friends and family, playing tennis and golf, and traveling.  He is also a huge fan of the Carolina Panthers, and of course, all Tar Heel sports.
