Jessica Ruderman joins the CLT Alliance as a content manager coming off a career in local news.
She spent six years working at two local news stations in Charlotte, where she delegated news coverage, ensured accurate information was published online and on air, and led digital strategy for the newsroom. In 2024, she won an Emmy Award as the lead digital content producer at her station.
Jess moved to the Charlotte area back in 2011. Her personal ties to the city and the time she’s spent telling its stories make her uniquely invested in the future of the Queen City. As a journalist, she’s had the opportunity to spotlight people making a difference among their neighbors, to get resources to those who need them most, and has pushed difficult conversations to the forefront of her community.
As a member of the CLT Alliance marketing and communications team, Jess oversees all social media and plays an integral role in the content strategy, development, and execution for our communications platforms.
“Jess was a leader in her newsroom and has already emerged as a smart, capable, and talented addition to the CLT Alliance,” Vice President of Communications Tanya Mendis said. “She brings intellectual curiosity, initiative, and enthusiasm to every project she manages. I have full confidence Jess will be a leader on the marketing and communications team.”
Jess was born and raised in Maryland but considers North Carolina her second home. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina’s prestigious journalism school, where she studied broadcast and electronic journalism.
During her time at UNC, she spent a semester as a foreign exchange student at the University of Navarra in northern Spain – the country’s best private university. There, she improved her Spanish and learned about journalism on the other side of the world.
When she’s not at work, you’ll likely find Jess hiking with her husband, traveling, watching her favorite sports teams, or spending time with their two cats.
