Select CLT team puts Charlotte Region in global spotlight

The Select CLT team has been busy with travel in October as team members took to the skies for marketing trips in Germany and Belgium, as well as the Industrial Asset Management Council’s (IAMC) Fall Forum conference in Detroit.

In Germany, Chief Business Recruitment Officer Danny Chavez and Managing Director Jeremiah Anderson attended the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) Europe trade show in Leipzig, Germany, where they had opportunities to speak with life science manufacturers and suppliers. As the largest life science conference in Europe, BIO Europe gathered hundreds of BioPharma professionals and companies providing networking connections, speakers, and life science exhibits for the attendees. Select CLT met with many companies interested in expanding into the U.S. market with their operations and made inroads with NC Biotech for future engagement opportunities.

From Germany, Chavez and Anderson jumped to Antwerp, Belgium where Select CLT partnered with A-Law International Law Firm for a targeted marketing seminar. They pitched the Charlotte Region to more than 15 companies considering establishing a presence in the U.S. The collaborative meeting served as an ideal opportunity for Select CLT to speak directly to companies about the benefits of the Charlotte Region and how the CLT Alliance can help their operations successfully land and grow in the market. Speakers at the event included Management InSites, the Belgian American Chamber of the South (BACoS), and the U.S. Department of Commerce. A wide array of industries were represented including engineering firms, eco-friendly industrial equipment cleaners, and food and beverage. The A-Law firm provided a recap on their website.

Meanwhile in North America, Director of Business Recruitment Gretchen Carson represented the Select CLT team at the 20th anniversary of the IAMC Fall Forum in 2022. IAMC serves as a leading industrial and manufacturing real estate trade association with an increasing global presence and economic impact. Attendees of the forum included real estate professionals, economic developers, and service providers. This year’s focus was on global distribution issues and supply chain fatigue which attendees had the opportunity to discuss during speaking events, roundtables, and peer to peer sessions. Notable speakers included Peter Zeihan, who touched on the collapse of globalization, and Harry Crane Moser, who spoke about reshoring manufacturing to the United States.

As the year winds down, the Select CLT team is preparing for a robust travel schedule in 2023, with the intent to increase Charlotte’s market recognition and to continue identifying opportunities to enhance capital investment and job creation across the 14-county region.

We are hoping to continue our new connections made and further market the region domestically and globally.
