Activity has been busy yet exciting for the Select CLT recruitment team. Gretchen Carson and Kylie Barnes have finished out half of the year completing six total mission trips from Florida to New York to Germany, attending conferences, networking with consultants and cultivating leads directly with companies interested in Charlotte as a potential expansion or relocation. The team has plenty more travel and events in store to round out 2024 and are beginning to develop their 2025 calendar.
Gretchen Carson had a successful trip to Germany in Q2 that resulted in four qualified leads, two of which decided to visit the Charlotte Market for a Site Visit, becoming Qualified Projects. Kylie Barnes is most looking forward to attending the Battery Show in October with EDPNC where there will be business leaders and top-industry companies showcasing their products and innovations. She plans to highlight the region’s strong infrastructure, skilled workforce, and strategic location that makes it an ideal market for companies in these cutting-edge sectors to grow.
In addition to their travel schedule, the team is also focused on expanding their project pipeline through lead generation. They are actively engaging with consultants and companies to identify new opportunities for investment. This proactive approach ensures that Charlotte remains at the forefront of their minds when deciding where to grow. The team’s efforts this year have resulted in six regional wins so far in 2024 with a pipeline of four active projects and six active qualified leads. Select CLT continues to cultivate these leads while generating new leads through a multifaceted approach.
The Select CLT team has also organized multiple events to connect with the local economic development community around the region. The Q3 Select CLT Council Meeting will take place on Sept. 13 for Select CLT members to discuss industrial development in the Region and feature the Riverbend development between Gaston County and Lincoln County.
The team is also planning a Familiarization Tour with the assistance of their EDAC members, inviting around 15 Site Consultants to the market for the Roval 400 to spend a weekend learning more about the Region, connecting with Economic Development leaders, and enjoying everything that the area has to offer. This will be a great opportunity to showcase and promote the CLT Region as a premier destination for business and talent.
As they look ahead, the team has a dynamic calendar of travel, projects, and events. Select CLT is poised to make significant strides in the coming year, further solidifying the Region’s reputation as a hub of opportunity and growth. They are confident that their efforts will lead to even greater investment opportunities for the Charlotte Region.
