CLT Alliance Business Recruitment Team recap

Jeremiah Anderson, Managing Director, Business Recruitment

The Charlotte Regional Business Alliance® Business Recruitment Team has had a busy and productive month, pursuing local, national and international economic development opportunities.

In early June, the CLT Alliance took part in the Belgian Trade Mission hosted by the Belgian American Chamber of the South (BACoS), in Atlanta, Georgia. This networking dinner reception allowed the CLT Alliance, in collaboration with local international business incubator Management InSites, to represent the Charlotte Region before Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid, high level Belgian political officials, and more than 250 Belgian companies interested in doing business in the U.S. market.

With numerous Belgian companies in the region and very similar industry profiles, Belgium is an important market for our region. We look forward to more collaboration with BACoS and strengthening our connectivity with Belgium for future economic opportunities.

The North Carolina Economic Development Association (NCEDA) Annual Conference took place in Wrightsville Beach this month. Business Recruitment Manager Eduardo Venegas met with economic developers across the state, learning about the important work they do for their communities.

Also this month, members of the business recruitment team traveled to Toronto, Canada, to attend Collision 2022, North America’s fastest growing tech conference. Deemed “The Olympics of Tech” by Politico, this conference was an important and strategic opportunity for the region.

The team also traveled to Detroit, Michigan, for Automate 2022, the largest automation event in North America. The showcase had a packed agenda, hundreds of exhibitors, and valuable networking opportunities.

The CLT Alliance also had the opportunity to spend an afternoon with the Matthews Chamber of Commerce during their Summer Speaker Series. Managing Director of Business Recruitment Jeremiah Anderson provided an update on the recruitment team’s new management consultancy approach to regional economic development, key performance indicators, target industries, and the future of the Charlotte Region’s economy.

The business recruitment team is grateful for each opportunity, including those not mentioned in this article, to promote the Charlotte Region and its assets. Looking ahead to the last half of the year, the team will begin full implementation of the new regional economic development plan of work.
