Vanguard acquires Centene campus in University City

Vanguard, one of the world’s leading investment management companies, announced the acquisition of the massive office campus in Northeast Charlotte which was originally intended to be the East Coast headquarters of Centene. Situated within Charlotte’s University City neighborhood, the 700,000-square-foot facility includes state-of-the-art office space, along with a range of amenities to support employee working experiences.

Vanguard opened its first Charlotte office in 1997. Today, Vanguard employs more than 2,400 professionals in the Charlotte Region, representing a range of specialties including financial advice, sales, information technology, human resources, and client service. Once the University City office is complete, Vanguard’s Charlotte’s employees will be consolidated in one location.

The new campus, located at 2405 Governor Hunt Road near the Charlotte Blue Line rail link, is expected to open in 2025. Amenities include dedicated collaboration spaces, a conference center, cafeteria, outdoor eating and walking areas, EV charging stations, and a fitness center.
