Bosch adding 400 new jobs, investing $130M in Lincoln County expansion

Bosch, a leading global supplier of technology and services, has announced it will invest $130 million to expand its power tools manufacturing facility in Lincolnton, North Carolina, creating 400 new jobs in Lincoln County. The expansion will allow Bosch to manufacture more tools such as circular and reciprocal saw blades to meet increasing consumer demand.

“Bosch’s decades-long history and success in North Carolina is another testament to our state’s top business climate in action,” Christopher Chung, CEO of the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC), said. “Whether a business is relocating or expanding as Bosch is, North Carolina’s world-class workforce and education systems support companies’ growth.”

Since early 2022, the EDPNC worked with the North Carolina Department of Commerce and local organizations on incentive comparisons and workforce training requirements, with the company choosing to expand at its current location. Bosch cites its current operations, access to a world-class workforce, proximity to critical infrastructures and local support as factors in its remaining in North Carolina.

Bosch’s Power Tools division, which is housed within the company’s Consumer Goods business sector, produces power, rotary tools, range-finding tools and accessories. Bosch has been in Lincolnton for 47 years and this expansion will nearly double its current workforce in Lincoln County. While salaries will vary by position, the average wage will be $53,204, which is higher than the county’s current average wage of $49,332.

The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina would like to recognize the North Carolina Department of Commerce as well as other key partners involved in this project, including the North Carolina General Assembly, the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the North Carolina Community College System, Lincoln Economic Development Association, Lincoln County, the City of Lincolnton and Rutherford Electric Membership Corporation.
