CLT Alliance Young Professionals | A year of growth, connection, and leadership

Solange Tricanowicz

As the year draws to a close, we reflect on the incredible journey we’ve had as a community of young professionals dedicated to growth, connection, and leadership. I’m proud of our collective efforts and shared commitment to making the Charlotte region a vibrant community for young professionals.

Networking and Learning:The programs committee led three sold-out programs on important topics for young professionals such as design thinking, social entrepreneurship and learning from some of Charlotte’s to business leaders in our “Leveling Up Your Leadership” executive panel. We hosted our first regional event,  touring E.J. Gallo and learning more about the impact of the alcoholic beverage industry. From entrepreneurs to C-suite executives, we created spaces for networking, learning and professional growth.

Building Community: From volunteer initiatives at Promising Pages, Second Harvest Food Bank and cleaning up streets on North Tryon, our young professionals made a tangible difference in the community. Some of our YPs volunteered on the CMS Bond Campaign, and amplified the young professional voice in the CLT Alliance’s advocacy efforts. The best part was the opportunity to bond as colleagues and friends, all while making a positive impact in our local community.

YPs Mentoring the Next Generation: This year, several of our YPs offered their talent and time to developing the next generation of leaders. We hosted a group of college students from Augusta University to learn more about Charlotte (some of whom have chosen to move to Charlotte!), we met with area high school students to chat about our professional journeys and offer some YP advice.

Most excitingly, we launched Intern Night CLT, a summer intern networking event series that connected interns from the Charlotte business community to learn more about Charlotte, connect with area young professionals and socialize with other interns who they otherwise might not get to know. We had over 150 participants join us for a South End Rail Trail walk, an amazing “summer soiree” at the Lowe’s Tech Hub, and enjoyed a thrilling Charlotte Knights game. It was amazing to see the impact. We saw interns break out of their shells, enrich their internship experience, and get a flavor of what makes Charlotte a great home for young professionals.

Looking Ahead: As we turn the page to a new year, our commitment remains steadfast. We aspire to continue providing unparalleled networking opportunities, strengthening our sense of community, and furthering the development of each member’s leadership potential.

It has been a fun and high-impact year, and I’m honored to have served as YP Chair for 2023. Thank you to every member who contributed, participated, and supported our efforts throughout the year. Your dedication has been the driving force behind our success.

Cheers to more fun and more impact in 2024!
