19 companies in the Charlotte Region make 2025 Fortune 1000 list

The Charlotte Region is home to 19 Fortune 1000 companies, seven of which landed on the 2025 Fortune 500 list.

The latest Fortune 1000 rankings are once again a testament to the Charlotte Region’s strengths. With a unique 14-county footprint between North and South Carolina, this dynamic hub has emerged as a magnet for corporate giants. The 19 Fortune 1000 companies contribute to the economic vitality of the region, signaling a robust environment for business growth and innovation.

The Fortune 1000 list ranks the 1,000 largest American companies by their revenues. Bank of America, Lowe’s, Honeywell, Nucor, Duke Energy, Truist, and Sonic Automotive made the Fortune 500 rankings — the 500 largest American companies by revenue. All seven companies are headquartered in the Charlotte Region.

Of note, Bank of America moved up one spot and Duke Energy moved up four spots on the Fortune 500 list.

RXO gained 49 spots to reach No. 711 in the Fortune 1000 rankings. Brighthouse Financial, which moved up 42 spots, sits at No. 692. Curtiss-Wright jumped 21 spots to No. 898.

Of the 33 companies in the Carolinas on the Fortune 1000 list, those headquartered in the Charlotte Region make up more than half. The concentration here highlights the Charlotte Region’s competitive edge and pro-business climate. With a strategic location, global connectivity via Charlotte Douglas International Airport, and a thriving ecosystem for growth, the region offers companies the ideal environment to scale and succeed.

With 117 people moving to the Charlotte Region each day—most of them in their prime working years—the area continues to rank among the fastest-growing in the nation.
