‘Get the data’ | Research team helps drive Charlotte Region’s economy forward into 2023

Adrienne Hua

After 100 more research requests directly related to recruitment projects, the CLT Alliance Research Team is ready to celebrate! It has been a big year, not just for the research team, but also for the army of firms and organizations that make up the region’s business community. Before we jump into 2023, let’s review what we have achieved together.

  • From December 2021 through November 2022, the region has seen a total of 61 announcements, culminating in more than 7,000 jobs and $4 billion in capital investment. All of which have been meticulously gathered and examined in our quarterly growth reports.
  • Following the trail of innovation, the team explored both the life sciences and fintech industry to understand what an impactful cluster looks like and how we, as a community, could achieve and implement our own regional version.
  • Fully understanding the importance of site requirements to firm relocation decisions, we took a deep dive into highlighting how competitive our region was in terms of commercial real estate, given the COVID-19 disruptions and the rapid change of the “traditional workplace.”
  • Facilitating and sharing industry expert knowledge to the business community through three Regional Insights Forums has better prepared us and the region to tackle current and future challenges.

  • And retrofitting into today’s economic needs, the team revamped the COVID-19 Dashboard into the Economic Indicators Dashboard. This dashboard serves as an essential tool when it comes to examining regional economic health and vibrancy.

Whew, what a journey! In a way, 2022 was all about getting ready for 2023. As new trends become more apparent, the region will encounter new challenges. New challenges will call for new solutions and the CLT Alliance Research Team will be ready to help lead the way.
