Business Recruitment Team brings site selectors to the Charlotte Region

The business recruitment team has consistently been traveling to build new and strengthen existing relationships with site selection consultants from around the United States. This month, the CLT Alliance hosted and sponsored LiveXchange, a national conference focused on connecting site selectors with economic development organizations.

LiveXchange brought 25 site selection consultants to the Charlotte Region. Through the CLT Alliance team’s meetings, as well as having attendees participate in local activities, we showcased why the Charlotte Region is an optimal location for business to establish a presence. Meeting with these consultants is critical as they provide insight to the decision-making processes of their clients – companies that are seeking to relocate or expand their operations.

Chief Business Recruitment Officer Danny Chavez kicked off the conference introducing the region and the keynote speaker for the conference, Dr. Lindsey Piegza, chief economist for Stifel Financial. Additionally, Chavez and Director of Business Recruitment Gretchen Carson tag teamed pitches for the consultants. Key takeaways included the need for communities to focus on workforce and talent as well as the national economy and its effect on location decisions.

In addition to LiveXchange, Chavez spoke on the state economic development panel at the NAIOP N.C. Conference. The two-day event focused on successes, opportunities, and challenges impacting commercial real estate. Chavez also shared his insight into the state of industrial economic development at a Bisnow panel in Charlotte.

These conferences are the first of many opportunities for the recruitment team to ensure the talent and assets of the Charlotte Region stay in the forefront with site selectors. During the next several months, the team will be present at the NextGen Talks Food and Beverage conference, Consultant Connect Summit, NextGen Talks Women in ED and on a joint mission with the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina to New York.
