Charlotte Region boasts 18 Fortune 1000 companies | A testament to business excellence

The year’s recently updated Fortune 1000 list unveils a continued record of excellence for the Charlotte Region. Uniquely located within a 14-county footprint between North and South Carolina, this dynamic hub has emerged as a magnet for corporate giants, hosting 18 Fortune 1000 companies within its borders. These corporate powerhouses not only contribute to the economic vitality of the region but also signify a robust environment for business growth and innovation. 

Among the notable names on the list are industry leaders such as Bank of America, Lowe’s, Honeywell International, and Nucor, each of which also holds a coveted position in the Global 500. These companies not only bring prestige to the region but also serve as beacons of success in their respective sectors. Some of the biggest gains in rank include Albemarle, moving up 81 spots; Ingersoll Rand, moving up 64 spots; and Curtiss-Wright, moving up 56 spots.  

The concentration of Fortune 1000 companies in the Charlotte Region underscores its competitive strength and the favorable conditions it offers for businesses. With a business-friendly environment, strategic geographical location, and access to national and international markets through the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, the region provides an ideal setting for companies to thrive and expand their operations. 

The Charlotte Region is one of the fastest-growing areas in the country, with 113 people moving here every day and the vast majority being of prime working age. This robust talent pipeline, nurtured by nationally renowned universities, colleges, and community colleges, ensures that businesses have access to a skilled workforce capable of driving innovation and growth.
