Charlotte Douglas International Airport is the best place to be if you need to make a flight this holiday season.
According to the website aGamble, Charlotte’s airport was the best in the nation for holiday travel, with an on-time departure rate of 77.5% from Thanksgiving to News Year’s last year.
The information is based on a comparison of on-time departures from the country’s 50 largest airports. aGamble.com took an in-depth look at U.S. flight punctuality data provided by the Bureau of Transportation, specifically focusing on departures during the holiday season.
The study ranked the top 50 largest airports based on their track record of delayed and canceled flights during the holiday season, in addition to which airports have the best punctuality and on-time flight arrivals.
Other airports ranked on this list include Washington Dulles International, Detroit Metro Wayne County, and Ronald Reagan Washington National.
The Thanksgiving travel period officially kicks off on Nov. 18.
