CLT Alliance Select CLT team represents region at Women in Economic Development Forum

The Charlotte Regional Business Alliance® Select CLT team is in Chicago this week, attending the 13th annual Women in Economic Development Forum. The conference, hosted by Area Development, brings together leading professionals, innovators, and thought leaders to discuss and tackle the challenges and opportunities for women in the field of economic development.

The forum celebrates and empowers women in their pursuit of success and progress, offering invaluable networking opportunities and insightful discussions on fostering inclusive and sustainable economic growth. The program opened Tuesday with a reception and dinner. On Wednesday, the agenda consisted of short presentations and panels, and ended with roundtable discussions where attendees were able to engage with speakers. The conference concluded Thursday with morning sessions.

CLT Alliance Director of Business Recruitment Karen Davison and Economic Development Associate Kylie Barnes had a front-row seat to much of the conversation, and had the opportunity to hear from and network with leading site consultants and industry experts.

“This conference has been an amazing opportunity to meet new friends and greet old ones in economic development across the nation,” Barnes said. “From AI and the importance of incentives, to the changing landscape of the energy sector, the forums have been educational and inspiring. We are leaving motivated and excited to put into practice the things we’ve learned here in Chicago.”
