Hickory-based CommScope will invest more than $60 million and create 250 new positions as part of an announced expansion to its Catawba County facilities.
CommScope is a global leader in infrastructure solutions for communication networks. The company already employs more than 1600 people in Catawba County.
Over the next four years, CommScope will enhance production capabilities, bolstering the company’s capability to meet growing demand for broadband nationwide, and improve access and telecommunications speeds in previously underserved broadband markets.
Company leaders said the investment demonstrates their ongoing commitment to innovation, growth, and the local community.

The additional positions created by the expansion will range from manufacturing and engineering roles to management and support functions. CommScope will work closely with local workforce development agencies to identify and train qualified candidates for these new opportunities.
