I’m Solange Tricanwicz and I am thrilled to serve as the vice chair of the CLT Alliance Young Professionals board. I also chair the programs committee and get the pleasure of sharing our mission and vision to the greater young professionals community through programs and events. In my “9-5” role, I am the director of corporate engagement at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Making connections between the business community and the amazing talent Charlotte has to offer is a passion that shows up in several areas of my life.
What I love so much about Charlotte is that this is a city that values business, leadership and service, and I think that the YPs connect all of those dots perfectly. My involvement with the organization began with networking mixers and luncheons, which were certainly valuable, but I wanted to go deeper. I was selected to participate in the Emerging Business Leaders program. This was such a special opportunity because it revealed that there are so many young professionals in this city that are hungry for not only developing themselves to be the best they can be, but also who are striving to make an impact on the community.
Getting involved with the YPs board has been special. While most of the interaction we’ve had so far has been virtual, we have still been able to get to know each other and work together to envision a better future. I truly believe that this group (and all those involved!) will be the ones calling the shots in the Charlotte Region in the next few years, and the community will be better for it.
If you are curious about the CLT Alliance YPs, I encourage you to attend one of our events and to reach out to current board members. I am happy to gush about all of the important work we’ve accomplished and dream about what’s next.
