Members of the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance® embarked on an exclusive hard hat tour of The Pearl, Charlotte’s newest innovation district which will be anchored by the region’s first medical school. The journey not only showcased the transformative potential of The Pearl but also set the stage for the upcoming Exploring Economies trip to Phoenix’s innovation district in April.

Developed in partnership between Atrium Health and Wexford Science & Technology, The Pearl leverages the partners’ experience and forward-thinking approach to embrace new ideas, research, and technologies that will advance health care solutions and welcome people from all walks of life. Wake Forest University School of Medicine Charlotte will launch in the first phase of development and will seat its first class in 2025.

The CLT Alliance’s tour provided a firsthand glimpse into the potential of this dynamic space, where cutting-edge research, education, and entrepreneurship converge. The Pearl is a testament to Charlotte’s dedication to building a brighter, inclusive, and sustainable future that promotes economic mobility and is characterized by state-of-the-art medical facilities and environmentally-friendly, carbon-neutral structures

As a delegation of leaders from the Charlotte Region prepare to explore Phoenix’s innovation district in April, the experience at The Pearl serves as a powerful prelude to the opportunities and insights that await.
