Iredell County, NC

Iredell

This “crossroads community” includes the county seat of Statesville, which connects major Interstates 77 and 40, and is located approximately 45 miles north of Charlotte, and 130 miles west of Raleigh, the state capital.

Incorporating Mooresville, Iredell County is a major NASCAR racing hub, with many race shops located in the area. It’s no surprise, then, that automotive parts, advanced materials, and industrial machinery make up several key industries in the region.

Racing-related instruction is offered at the NASCAR Technical Institute at Universal Technical Institute. Another major anchor headquarters of the region is Lowe’s Home Improvement, also located in Mooresville. Lake Norman, the state’s largest manmade lake, extends into the county.
