Located in the heart of the southeast, Charlotte is ideally positioned halfway between NYC and Miami, making it possible to reach 100 million people within a day’s truck route.

With 35 nonstop international destinations out of CLT, you can get to almost anywhere in the world without the inconvenience of a layover. From here, it’s less than 2 hours in the air to Boston, New York, Miami and DC … and only 5 hours across the country to San Francisco or LAX. A $3B commitment by the city and its partners in 2015 to upgrade the airport has resulted in renovations that will change the way Charlotteans connect to the world for decades to come.

Major arteries throughout the city and region – I-77, I-85, I-40 & I-485 – mean that you can load up and head out. We put over half of the US population within easy driving distance.

Charlotte is within 250 miles of the Port of Wilmington, Port of Charleston and Port of Savannah, as well as the Charlotte inland port. From there, products can be easily transported via a vast rail network. The region is served by two major railroads (CSX and NS) as well as regional lines; many counties in the region have dual rail service.

Plans are in the works for an urban transit hub that expands the region’s reach and accessibility. Local light rail infrastructure and robust plans for low cost public transportation will ensure the region supports mobility at an every day and economic level.

Before you can think about logistics and connectivity, you have to consider your manufacturing costs. The affordability and reliability of our energy grid in North and South Carolina are key to a larger supply chain strategy. Today, more than 50% of the region’s power supply is from carbon-free sources, a number we’re looking to continue to improve.
