Hickory Furniture Mart Thanks NC Manufacturers for Producing PPE During Shutdown

Hickory, NC - Hickory Furniture Mart would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the wonderful North Carolina furniture and textile industry partners that stepped up in this time of crisis to creatively find solutions and work together to utilize their factories, resources and skilled craftsmen to manufacture critically needed PPE for our health care professionals and front line responders during this statewide shutdown.

Tracey Trimble Executive Vice President & General Manager added “We are so incredibly proud of all of our North Carolina partners, but especially proud of those in our furniture and textile factories.  Our industry has a long history of exhibiting strength and tenacity during the toughest of times and this pandemic brought out the very best in our manufacturing communities within North Carolina.  Their efforts helped save the lives of countless health care professionals, front line workers, residents and COVID-19 patients across the Carolinas and around the world.”

With North Carolina’s Stay at Home Order expiring tonight at 5pm, Hickory Furniture Mart will reopen to the public on Saturday, May 9 in Phase 1 of the state’s reopening plan.  Normal operating hours will resume Monday-Saturday from 9am-6pm starting Saturday.  Additional measures have been taken to sanitize the building, paying special attention to all high-touch areas.  Social distancing signage and markings have been placed throughout the Mart and customers and employees are encouraged to stay 6 feet apart from one another at all times.  Masks are also encouraged but not required. In an effort to preserve the nationwide shortage of masks for front line workers, please bring your own mask with you, however disposable masks will also be available inside many showrooms if needed.  Hand sanitizers are located throughout the building and bathroom dispensers contain a hand sanitizing soap as well.  Building occupancy will also be reduced.  Showrooms are available to work with customers in person one-on-one in a safe environment, but they are also available to work remotely, whichever makes customers feel more comfortable.  Designers and showrooms are also working remotely with many out of state customers that are still under Stay at Home mandates.
