Prior to joining Self-Help, he was Managing Director at JareMarc Advisors a fee only financial planning practice he founded in 2011.

Johnson began his financial services career in Dayton, Ohio as a management trainee at Society Bank. He subsequently held several key positions, including Assistant Vice President, Branch Manager, Vice President, District Manager, Vice President, Team Leader Private Banking, and Senior Financial Advisor at top tier financial services institutions.

Johnson moved to Charlotte in 1998 to join First Union Bank’s Wealth Management Group. He is a current board member of The Charlotte Rescue Missions Endowment Committee. He has served on boards of various organizations, including Johnston YMCA, Johnson C. Smith University Board of Visitors, United Way finance committee, The Family Center, 100 Black Men of Charlotte, Summit House and United Negro College Fund Leadership Committee.

Johnson was named to “Who’s Who in Black Charlotte” in 2010.

A native of Sidney, Ohio, Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Heidelberg College. He resides in NoDa and has two adult sons, Christian and Cameron.
