May 1 - The Charlotte Regional Business Alliance has been named as one of the country’s Top Economic Development Groups for 2019 by Site Selection. The magazine bases its annual ranking on four objective criteria – jobs, capital investment, jobs per capita and investment per capita. The publication also looks at subjective criteria, such as creativity of economic development strategy; depth and breadth of project activity; ability to generate impactful deals; and the ability to document the work of the economic development organization as it relates to real results.

“Locations throughout the U.S. and in every region of the world compete aggressively for direct investment at home and from abroad,” says Site Selection editor-in-chief Mark Arend. “Those appearing on these rankings have demonstrated with actual project numbers and other measures that they have the location attributes most in demand by capital investors.”

“It is an honor to receive national recognition for the work that we do on behalf of the Charlotte Region” said Janet LaBar, Alliance CEO and president. “Economic development is truly a team sport. None of our successes could be achieved without the support of our many local, regional and state partners.”

The Top Groups recognition will be featured in the May Global Best to Invest issue of the magazine. Site Selection is a monthly corporate real estate strategy and economic development publication delivered to nearly 45,000 executives of fast-growing firms.
