Amazon Distribution Center Finalized
Project to Create 1500 Jobs and $200 Million Investment

August 1, 2018 – The Charlotte Chamber is excited to share that Amazon has completed the final steps in their commitment to locate a distribution center on 100 acres off Tuckaseegee Road, north of Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The center will create 1,500 jobs and more than $200 million in capital investment.

“The new jobs and investment are significant. They will offer opportunity for increased economic mobility for a large number of citizens,” said Bob Morgan, Charlotte Chamber CEO and President.

The project, which will encompass 2.5 million square feet of warehouse space, will be located south of I-85 and east of I-485, and will require a realignment of Tuckaseegee Road and the extension of Todd Road.

Charlotte Chamber partners include the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, North Carolina Department of Commerce, North Carolina Department of Transportation and North Carolina Community College System.
