Chuck McShane, Ph.D., leads the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance’s economic research division, which tracks and analyzes data on the Charlotte Region’s economic competitiveness. The team also consults with local and international executives, site selectors and elected officials on demographic and economic trends locally, regionally and nationally. Chuck’s research has been featured by the NPR, and in the Charlotte Business Journal and the Charlotte Observer among other media outlets. He is a regular contributor of articles on economics and history to Charlotte Magazine and is the author of one book – A History of Lake Norman: Fish Camps to Ferarris.

Antony grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina where he developed a love for the Carolinas. Prior to joining the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance as the Director of Research, Antony worked as a Management Analyst in Orange County, North Carolina and in economic development for the City of Hyattsville, in Maryland.

Antony has a Bachelor of Arts in History and International Studies from North Carolina State University and a Masters in Public Policy from the University of Maryland, College Park. Antony enjoys spending time with his wife, running, and being outdoors.

Akofa is responsible for analyzing the Charlotte economy, designing chamber surveys, managing existing industry databases, and handling internal research and external requests.
