Business Facilities Magazine Spotlights Charlotte and CLT Alliance
On the heels of a 31 page spread in American Way Magazine, the Charlotte region is gaining even more notoriety in the January/February issue of Business Facilities Magazine. The bi-monthly publication targeted to site selection consultants, C-level executives and economic development organizations, includes two features on Charlotte: a behind the scenes look at Lowe's Global Tech Hub deal and a Q&A "Spotlight" column with Charlotte Regional Business Alliance President and CEO Janet LaBar.
Lowe's Global Tech Hub is one of only nine economic development projects nationwide awarded Honorable Mention in Business Facilities Deal of the Year competition. The project, announced last June, is expected to create more than 1,600 new technology jobs with an average salary of $117,000.
When asked about the significance of the project to the region's burgeoning tech scene, LaBar discussed a number of factors including higher education partnerships, real estate offerings, local talent strengths and government support.
