Planning for the future could not be more challenging or crucial during these uncertain times.

Perspectives from local and national leaders and experts on topics of economic revitalization, racial equity and transformative placemaking will shape the conversation the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance will have with investors at the Leadership Retreat Series.

The retreat will be held virtually kicking off with a welcome reception on October 15 followed by a three-part series highlighting critical issues as they relate to business, people and place on October 16, October 23 and October 30, respectively.

Speakers and panelists include Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles, Atlanta Mayor Kiesha Lance Bottoms, former Charlotte mayors Harvey B. Gantt and Anthony Foxx who also served as US Secretary of Transportation in the Obama administration.

Kieth Cockrell, Executive VP at Bank of America will lead a conversation with Mayor Lyles, Mayor Bottoms and Honeywell CEO Darius Adamczyk on racial equity and why investing in people will improve the region’s competitiveness.

Experts Mark Zandi, Chief Economist for Moody’s Analytics, Heather Boushey, President and CEO of the Washington Center for Equitable Growth and John Connaughton, Barings Professor of Financial Economics in the Belk School of Business at UNC Charlotte will join a conversation led by Atrium Health CEO Gene Woods on accelerating economic revitalization through business growth.

Other speakers and panelists include UNC Charlotte Chancellor Sharon Gaber, Director of Ann T. and Robert M. Bass Center for Transformative Placemaking at Brookings Institution Jennifer Vey, Senior VP Innovation and Economic Development at Wexford Tom Osha, and US Chair and Senior Partner of PwC Tim Ryan.

Investor attendees will gain exclusive and valuable insights into the issues impacting business through a global pandemic and state of civil unrest, and will have the opportunity to weigh in on what specific actions the CLT Alliance can take to lead efforts for the region to revitalize and thrive in 2021 and beyond.

Space is limited for the Leadership Retreat and is expected to sell out. This event is open to Ally investors and above. For more information and to register, click here.
