A Deeper Dive on Manufacturing: CLT Alliance Launches 2nd Annual Labor Market Survey
The Manufacturing Sector is a crucial driver of the Charlotte Region economy. The sector contributes more $26 billion in economic activity, second only to the financial services sector, which contributes about $27 billion. Together, those two sectors account for 30% of the region’s total economy.
The manufacturing sector also provides well-paying career pathways for workers without bachelor’s degrees. The labor market and talent requirements in the manufacturing sector are rapidly changing. Advances in technologies have made specialized skills even more important. To better understand labor market needs in this crucial sector, the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance Economic Research team is surveying area manufacturers. Last year’s survey results, linked here, compiled insights from 106 manufacturers accounting for more than 15% of the region’s manufacturing workforce.
If you own or operate a manufacturing company in the Charlotte Region, please consider taking a moment to fill out this year’s survey.
