Charlotte Region’s Tech Talent Remains on the Rise

The Charlotte Region has long been known as a financial services and HQ hub. Given the increasing importance of tech workers to both of these industries, the Charlotte Region is also developing a critical mass of tech workers with key skill sets. The Charlotte market is the fastest growing market for software developers (61% over 5 years) among major metros. This industry mix has also helped foster key strengths among information security analysts and computers systems analysts.

The Charlotte market has one of the most concentrated talent pools in the country in both occupations. These three occupations are foundational to a robust tech workforce. Software developers and computer systems analysts are the two most important high-tech occupations in everything from professional services, to headquarters and regional managing offices, to commercial banking and insurance. These skill sets allow firms to work more efficiently and to digitally interact with their customers. Information security analysts are one of the fastest growing tech occupations because every industry is learning how important it is to keep their data secure. Increasingly talent, and tech talent in particular, is driving location decisions. The Charlotte region has the tech workforce necessary to help firms of all stripes succeed.
