Small Business Tool Kit

Congratulations on your plans to become an entrepreneur in the Charlotte region!

The Charlotte Regional Business Alliance has put together a tool kit to assist you in assembling all the resources you need to make your business successful.

Starting a business overview (.PDF)

Link to the Institute for Entrepreneurship to find small business resources and assistance.

The web site is a collaborative effort of our community’s business resource providers to connect you with relevant information about the resources available to you, the business owner. Our goal is to connect you with the information you need so that you can focus on your most important task: starting and running a successful business.

Research Data

  • Zip Code Demographics data helps you analyze and research an area by zip code.  You will find basic information such as: household income, population by age, gender & race.  There are also business characteristics for each area including: total establishments, employment and employment by industry.
  • Use the Chamber's GIS Mapping Tool to help you make a location decision.  It can also be used to conduct a radius search for demographics and business locations, locate sample properties surrounding a specified point, and plot industry sectors by type.
