The Charlotte Regional Business Alliance® is pleased to announce Eduardo Venegas has joined the team as the new manager of business recruitment.
In his new role, Eduardo will work closely with businesses and community partners in supporting efforts that will serve as a catalyst for innovation and economic growth for the Charlotte Region.
“I am honored to be part of the CLT Alliance Business Recruitment Team,” Eduardo said. “I am passionate about business development and the impact that this has on the local community. I am looking forward to working with our community partners in continuing to make this region a place that businesses can call home and thrive in.”
Prior to joining the CLT Alliance, Eduardo worked for York Technical College in the Workforce and Economic Development Division as the program manager for business and professional development. His work supported the tri-county community (Lancaster, Chester, and York) through the development and management of business programs.
Eduardo has also served on the Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce board of directors.
Eduardo also worked for eight years at the South Carolina Small Business Development Center (SC SBDC) as a business consultant. During this time, he provided leadership and technical expertise for the development of new businesses, creating more than 160 new jobs, $6.5M in new sales revenue, and $6.5M in business investments. He also served as a small business educator, advisor and advocate. As a bilingual consultant, Eduardo developed new training workshops, consulting tools, and research projects that are responsive to the needs of the local business community. He also developed a business development program to reach underserved populations.
“Eduardo’s experience in South Carolina’s workforce and economic development ecosystem will be invaluable to our goals as a bi-state regional economic development organization,” Chief Business Recruitment Officer Danny Chavez said. “We are excited to have him join our team.”
Eduardo also understands firsthand the passion, dedication, drive and commitment it takes to grow a small business. As the owner of Flor de Lis Naturalist Tours travel agency, Eduardo gained valuable, practical experience that allows him to relate to other entrepreneurs.
Originally from Monteverde, Costa Rica, Eduardo was first drawn to the Carolinas a decade ago by an opportunity to further his education in business. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer systems engineering from Universidad Latina in Costa Rica and a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in strategic leadership from Winthrop University in Rock Hill.
In his spare time, Eduardo enjoys traveling, gardening, photography, and spending time with his significant other and their two cats, and new Boxer puppy, Lana.
