DeWanna Frazier-Johnson is the director of human resources at the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance. DeWanna joined the CLT Alliance in July 2021 as a temporary employee and officially became a full-time member of the organization four months later.
In her role, DeWanna is responsible for all aspects of human resources including recruitment, employee relations, learning and development, organizational development, payroll, and HR strategic planning.
“DeWanna brings to the organization a vast experience and deep knowledge in the HR field. Her experience working in a multitude of industries makes her a valuable asset,” Chief Financial Officer Joaquin Soria said. “She is very passionate about her profession and is always looking for ways to enhance our practices and processes. I am certain that with her assistance we will become an even greater place to work.”
DeWanna is enthusiastic about the value of human resources and believes in the importance of cultivating a workplace that is inclusive and beneficial for all. She is a proud member of the Charlotte Area Society of Human Resources Management, Black in HR talent network, and HR Professionals of Charlotte.
“As the HR director, I look forward to growing the CLT Alliance team that will help further our mission and motto of ‘Grow, Advocate, Convene,’ for the betterment of the entire Charlotte Region,” DeWanna said.
Prior to joining the CLT Alliance, DeWanna worked in various HR roles for U.S. Foods, Caromount Health, CURO Health Services, and more of the Charlotte Region’s top organizations.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, DeWanna moved to Charlotte in the fall of 2008. She graduated from Strayer University with a bachelor’s degree in human resources management.
When she is not working, DeWanna enjoys traveling, networking, being a mom to a fur baby, a plant mom to 22 houseplants, and spending time with family and friends.
