Meet Dazia Miller, research intern at the CLT Alliance

Dazia Miller is new to the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance® working with the research team as an intern. A West Virginia native (yes, it is its own state), she obtained her bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University. After that, she moved to Charlotte where she is currently pursuing her Master of Public Administration at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

“Doug Conant said that in order ‘to win in the marketplace, you must first win in the workplace’. And the CLT Alliance really is winning with Dazia’s presence,” said Lead Principal Researcher Adrienne Hua. “As an MPA student, she is learning how to turn data into action and that is incredibly valuable to our team and organization as we use our industry research expertise to drive economic development in our region.”

When she is not collaborating with the research team at the CLT Alliance to help drive the economic development of the region, she is likely writing seemingly never-ending research papers for school. Outside of exercising her brain all day, she loves to exercise her body and creativity as well. You can often find her listening to music, designing and sewing 1/1 custom clothing, deciding what outfit she is going to wear that day, or at the gym struggling to deadlift.

Dazia has a passion for social justice and hopes to one day work on equitable systematic reform of the justice and prison systems in the United States. Additionally, she plans to tie in her love for fashion into her career one day, hoping to be an example to others that it’s okay to have multiple dreams. She is grateful for the opportunity the CLT Alliance has given her to learn research skills from some of the best, and excited to be able to contribute to making the Charlotte Region a great place to live and work.
