Northeastern University in Charlotte recently hosted a panel featuring influential women leaders from the Charlotte community, “Empowered Voices: Women Shaping the Queen City.” The panelists, leaders contributing to the future of health, innovation, economic development, and social justice, shared their career experiences and insights for personal and professional growth.
“Empowered Voices” showcased the remarkable contributions of women driving Charlotte’s transformation into a hub of innovation and progress. Among the esteemed panelists were Robyn Lake Hamilton, president & CEO of Urban League of Central Carolinas; Hillary Crittendon, assistant vice president, head of operations and strategy for The Pearl, Advocate Health’s Innovation District in Charlotte; Janet LaBar, president & CEO of the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance; and Keri Revens, director of evaluation & research partnerships at Advocate Health National Center for Health Equity.
The panelists delved into topics such as empowerment, leadership, mentorship, and the significance of uplifting other women. Their discussions highlighted pivotal moments that shaped their trajectories and current roles like the discovery of how to make an impact, events that appeared as roadblocks, the search for opportunity, and unforeseen openings from relationships.
Reflecting on the event, Angela Hosking, CEO & regional dean of Northeastern University in Charlotte and panel moderator, emphasized its significance in empowering women and fostering leadership.
