Site Selectors Mixer

Normally, travel is an essential part of recruiting businesses to the region. The CLT Alliance business recruitment team would be meeting face-to-face with people in their markets to tout the benefits businesses will experience when expanding or relocating to our region. With the pandemic grounding everyone, we have pivoted to hosting many more virtual meetings. We will be holding a twice monthly series of virtual mixers with site selection consultants beginning this month and going through the end of the year. This is the next best thing for maintaining strong relationships with some of the folks who bring projects to the region.

Site selectors, located in various cities across the US, are one of the many sources for generating leads/projects for the Charlotte region.  These professionals work with companies that are looking to relocate or expand their business to new markets. Site selector services include taxes, incentives, labor force and availability, infrastructure, construction costs, real estate, transportation, logistics and operating costs to name a few.  In general, they evaluate competing locations which may include the development of financials models.

Attendees for each of the mixer meetings are the CLT Alliance business recruitment team, representatives from each of two of the counties in the Charlotte region and 3-4 site selection consultants.  During the meeting, the CLT Alliance team will provide an overview that highlights our regions many strengths and tells the story of why companies should choose us. We will also share our recent announcements made by companies that have done just that. Each attending county will have the opportunity to provide an overview. Lively discussion and some fun activities will wrap up the meeting. The first site selector mixer was on September 16th.  This meeting did not have a specific discussion topic; however, future mixers will have themes such as financial incentives/taxes, workforce, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and real estate.
