Bells are Ringing screening
Saturday, July 31, 2010
2010 SUMMER FILM SERIES:
The Bad and the Beautiful: Films by Vincente Minnelli
Location: ImaginOn Library’s Wachovia Theatre
Starting Time: 2:00 p.m., Saturday afternoons
July 31st:
BELLS ARE RINGING (1960)
127 minutes; Color
Starring Judy Holliday and Dean Martin
BELLS ARE RINGING would be Judy Holliday’s last film (she died three years later, at age 43), but it was a memorable finale to a sensational career. She made only a handful of films, but is remembered as one of the indelible, charismatic stars of the 1950s. Look no further than her role as the eternally optimistic switchboard operator at Susanswerphone Answering Service. Minnelli, for his part, did wonders transferring the original Broadway production (for which Holliday won the Tony) to the screen.
On-Site Parking:
Parking is available in the parking deck below ImaginOn Library, and the first 90 minutes are free for ImaginOn patrons during regular hours of operation. Please have your parking stub validated at the Check Out Desk.
The deck can be accessed from Sixth Street, and there is direct elevator access from the parking deck to the lobby.
