Nims Island outdoor summer screening

Free family movies will be shown at Ceremonial Plaza outside the NASCAR Hall of Fame on three summer Thursdays. Guests to the Hall of Fame during the hours before the movies will receive $2 off admission to the Hall of Fame, and reserved seating for the movies.
2010 Summer Movie Series
The summer fun continues Thursday, July 29 with the second of monthly movies in the expansive Ceremonial Plaza outside the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The movie begin at 8 p.m. and will be shown on the 28-foot Panasonic LED board. The movie is free, and guests are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs. Picnic baskets also are welcome.
Starring Abigail Breslin and Jodie Foster, “Nim’s Island” plays at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 29. Based on the award-winning book by Wendy Orr, “Nim’s Island” is a funny, high-energy film with a heartfelt twist. A young girl inhabits an isolated island with her scientist father and communicates with a reclusive author of the novel she’s reading.
Guests are encouraged to tour the NASCAR Hall of Fame prior to the movies. Tickets to the 150,000-square-foot entertainment attraction will be discounted $2 for anyone visiting between 4 and 8 p.m. on movie nights. Also, anyone visiting the venue during these hours will be offered access to a reserved viewing area in the Ceremonial Plaza for the movie.
